I was pretty happy with my packing overall for this trip — and was able to pack all of these looks for a full week in just my carry-on! Here’s a roundup of everything I wore on my back-to-back trips to The Bahamas and then Miami, including my swimwear!
I always travel in my heaviest shoes, and since we were planning to try to still hit the gym while we were away, I traveled in these rose gold sneakers! I also always pack a pair of denim with me (for cooler nights and for when I’m inevitably over dresses and skirts), so I planned to wear on my white denim so it could make the cut. This cozy Free People sweater was the most perfect travel companion and I wore it on all 3 flights — and even over a few dresses for dinner!
Sweater: XS (Free People runs large)
I’ve talked about this before, but one of my favorite items to pack is a button down shirt — this time, I packed two! They are SO versatile and can be worn a number of different ways. We stayed at a hotel and casino in The Bahamas (more on where we stayed coming tomorrow), so I couldn’t necessarily be running through the hotel in just a swim coverup. Plus, unless I’m eating with the sand in my toes, I always feel a little underdressed heading to lunch like that. These button downs are the perfect make-shift swim coverup, can be worn unbuttoned on their own, or tied with a pair of cutoffs like this look!
Shorts: Size 24 (they run large, order one size down)
When I want to cover my arms and shoulders from the sun, wearing this unbuttoned shirt is key! I also packed a few swim pieces from Aerie for this trip — one of my alltime favorite swimwear brands! We worked on a collaboration while I was down in The Bahamas and this suit ended up being the runner up of what I featured for the actual post. I sized up to a medium in this one piece — it comes in multiple other colors in patterns!
One Piece: M (size up)
One of my favorite dresses of the entire trip — this gorgeous pink floral wrap dress was so comfortable, I ended up wearing this exact outfit twice (the second time in Miami later in the week). I absolutely love the ruffle shoulder detail on one side and the hemline hit right at my ankles. This dress (and entire outfit) would be perfect for any upcoming showers or spring weddings you might have on your calendar! It got so many compliments and has been one of my most-sold pieces so far this season from you guys!
Dress: Size XS (this brand runs a little large)
I love linen dresses because they can be worn dressed up or down! I always love packing a few dresses for daytime just incase we don’t end up beach bumming it on a trip the entire time and want to get out and explore!
Dress: XS
I think you guys liked this swim the most — it was my most-liked picture of the trip! This fun plunge palm print wrap style was so comfortable to wear — I actually tried crossing the front and tying it around my neck that way as well, and both ways looked amazing! I’m wearing a size small here and it fits TTS. You all also loved this headband — I’m wearing the PINK shade here!
Swim: Size Small (runs TTS)
Showing you two shots of this outfit so you could see all the details! It’s actually NOT a dress, ladies! It’s a two piece set with a high waisted skirt and a wrap top — although, they do make a dress version in this exact print if you’d be more comfortable in that style! This was actually the first time I was able to wear these See by Chloe wedges I purchased months ago, and I absolutely LOVED them! They seriously make your legs look a mile long!
Top & Skirt: XS (runs TTS)
I wore this look twice because I loved it so much! I used this skirt as both a coverup (with just the swim top) and then again with this button down! This high-waisted set from Aerie was also super comfortable and looked so vintage! It’s probably one of my favorite swim tops I’ve ever owned (in terms of quality and support), so I’m planning on scooping up a few other colors with regular bottoms!
Swim Top: Large (runs small), Swim Bottoms: M (runs small), Skirt: XS (runs TTS)
This dress through some of you guys off — when I first posted it, I didn’t do a good job representing the cutouts on the side and the back! The side cutouts are very small, but it is definitely more of a fun, flirty dress, and I’m not sure it would be appropriate for a wedding like some of you were asking! I always play it safe when it comes to that, though! It could definitely be worn to a rehearsal dinner (depending on the venue) and/or a bachelorette bash for sure! It also comes in red!
Dress: Size Small (runs TTS)
This was the crochet suit you guys LOVED. Again, I sized up to a medium (which I normally do in one pieces from Aerie), so it definitely fits a little on the snug side. I also had a lot of questions on if the white was see through — and it wasn’t! It was double lined, and the top is triple lined! Such great quality for the price — I cannot recommend Aerie enough! It ended up being pretty chilly in The Bahamas each morning, so I was happy I packed this lightweight knit to throw over a pair of cutoffs for breakfast and before the beach really warmed up!
One Piece: Size Medium (runs small), Shorts: Size 24 (runs large, order one size down)
Later on in the week, I wanted to take a break from my heels and just wear my favorite sandals to dinner! Revolve sent me this dress RIGHT before we left town, so I threw it in without even trying it on! I’m always such a fan of these tie dresses with a cutout — and all the details from the dress surprised me when it was off the hanger! I loved the ruffle assymetrical hem, the stripe print had a hint of metallic gold running through it — so it was even prettier in person! If you guys love these sandals (my splurge from last summer), there’s a VERY similar pair for under $100 below!
Dress: Size XS (runs TTS)
Our last pool day in The Bahamas, I pulled out this floral kimono that I planned to wear two ways on this trip! The first was as a beach coverup, so I paired it over this fun one-piece swimsuit and these amazing cutoffs! These cutoffs are probably my favorite pair of shorts I’ve ever purchased — from the high-waisted style to the length on the leg! They’re just long enough without feeling awkward!
Kimono: XS (runs large), Swim: Small (runs TTS)
Remember when I said I would likely be over dresses after a week of them? Well, it happened. I was so happy I packed this outfit and ended up wearing it with these strappy heels to dress it up a bit! Raj said I looked like a straight up present in this bow top and I’m not going to lie, it took me about 10 minutes to tie the perfect bow. You all were also asking about this rose gold phone case with attached loop — it was my favorite tech accessory of the trip and made taking photos SO easy! I have a coupon code for you for 10% off — enter GLAM10 at checkout!
Top: Size XS (runs TTS)
This is what I wore the travel day from The Bahamas to Miami — with these rose gold sneakers! I told you, this sweater ended up being my JAM for the week and was perfect for the chilly airport and the plane!
Sweater: XS (runs large), Shorts: Size 24 (runs large, size one size down)
Another day, another headband. I love packing a few of these along with me to throw on when my beachy hair is looking out of control. I typically try to wash my hair every other day on vacation (I go 3-4 days usually), so these headbands come in handy! I’ve worn this one on the blog before — it’s old from Free People, sorry! I’m linking a few other options below with similar styles/prints! You can also shop for this coverup HERE.
Number one question I knew I would get — do you get weird tan lines in that swimsuit? The real answer, OF COURSE, haha! But, if you untie the middle, it’s not as bad, so I did that when I was laying down and kept it tied the rest of the time. Second question, does it stay up? Because you and adjust the ties, I made sure to tie the top one a little tighter and it definitely stayed in place! I’m wearing a size small in this style for reference and it fits TTS.
Swim: Size Small (runs TTS)
Another dress from Revolve that I threw in my suitcase the last minute! I love wrap dresses — they are so flattering and so comfortable and I love that you are able to basically size the dress however you want! I wore this look to dinner in Miami our last night of the trip and can’t wait to wear it here for spring!
Dress: Size Small (runs TTS)
We had a full morning and early afternoon on our last day before heading home — our flight wasn’t under 7pm, so we stored our bags and headed off to South Beach for a little exploring and lunch. I knew I would put my Free People sweater back on to travel home, but still wanted to wear jeans and a tee for the day to minimize changing the rest of my outfit, so I threw this floral kimono over my all white look and paired it with my favorite sandals!
Kimono: XS (runs large)
I will be sharing a full #GLAMtravel diary for both The Bahamas and Miami this week and share where we stayed for both trips, where we ate, and what we did!
