Everyday Glam: Skin Care

I’m so excited to kickoff a new series here on Oh So Glam!  I am constantly getting reader emails and messages asking about some of my favorite beauty products, so I thought now would be the perfect time to share my Everyday Glam secrets.  Each week I will be showing off my current favorites for haircare, makeup, skincare and nail care and linking directly to the products so you can shop directly from my post!  First up this week is skin care.

In more recent years, I’ve discovered the importance for taking great care of my skin.  Gone are the days where a routine is not needed and any old moisturizer would do.  A lot of my skin care routine came from trial and error, and also depends on the season (and my stress level), but I have found the above products in my rotation at the moment are serving me well!

I actually discovered the simple foaming cleanser after I received a sample bottle in an event “swag bag” and I’ve been hooked ever since.  My face is on the dry side, so anything harsh or made to strip away natural oils was only harming my face and causing me to break out.  This stuff is amazing… and something you can buy at your local drugstore (yay)!  I also make sure to moisture right after washing my face with either SkinCeuticals daily moisture or night cream, depending on the time.  If my face is on the super dry side or I’m really in need of extra moisture (like when I was in Cabo), I reach for restorea.  It is one pricey little thing, but hands down the best product I could use on my face.  I’ve had this one bottle for over six months and am only half way through it.  One of my more recent finds is the blisslabs anti aging serum.  I’ll be turning 28 this year (ahhhhhhh, whyyyy??!) and the best anti aging advice I’ve received is to start early and prevent it.  I use this serum lightly around my eyes, forehead and mouth a few times a week.  And if I’m having a particularly stressful week, as we all tend to have sometimes, I pull out all the stops and throw on proacti’s emergency blemish relief.  You can buy this little gift from God in one of the proactiv stands at the mall or as part of the larger proactiv packages online.   If there ever was a miracle acne product, this is it.  The second I start to feel a pimple coming on, I put this on and within hours, it’s drastically reduced.  If I use it over night, any sign of a blemish is gone the next morning.  Like I said, this is a gift from God.

For hands and body, I am a bliss body lotion freak.  I started using this stuff when Raj and I were staying at the W hotels when he was traveling for work.  Who actually falls in love with the lotion that the hotels give you?  When it’s bliss, that’s when!  This lotion smells so fresh and is so nice and thick.  I go through bottles of this stuff left and right.  Lately I’ve been using this h2o+ sea salt exfoliator on my hands and feet and it’s honestly better than getting a professional mani/pedi.  And lastly, I’ve been swearing by St. Tropez self tanning mousse for years and years.  I use it about once a week to keep from looking ill in the winter time and to fill in tan lines during the summer months.

If you have any questions on any of the products, feel free to email me and ask!  I look forward to sharing the rest of my favorite products in the Everyday Glam series over the next few weeks!

Can you do a tutorial on how you apply the self tanner? I’ve been meaning to try it but am nervous!

    Thanks,
