Travel | Girl’s Weekend at Foxwoods

Foxwoods Girls Weekend

I rounded up some of my best girlfriends and headed off to Foxwoods Resort Casino last weekend for a little girl’s getaway!  We were all college dance teammates and still try to get together as a group a few times a year!  Foxwoods saw a photo I posted of all of us as bridesmaids at one of our wedding’s this spring and offered to host a weekend for us full of all girl’s weekend essentials – pampering, shopping, dining, dancing, eating and champagne!  We jumped at the chance to spend a few days together (even though it literally look us scheduling this 6 months out due to our busy schedules).  We had way too much fun – and all felt the champagne hangover for days… damn you 30!

We started our weekend off the right way – with a little R&R at G Spa to get pampered with the most incredible manicures and pedicures – oh, and hibiscus champagne!  Seriously, how pretty are those drinks?  We were all like, “Um, can you tell us where to get the edible hibiscus?” and totally ordered them for our next get-together!  The G Spa at Foxwoods is one of the prettiest spas in Connecticut and definitely all about luxury – no wonder it’s been named Top Spa in Connecticut Magazine!  We made ourselves right at home in our robes and spent close to 3 hours at the spa – and trust us, if it wasn’t for such a packed agenda, we probably could have stayed longer!  Guests staying at Fox Tower can purchase a day pass (even if you aren’t getting any type of treatment) – totally worth it if you want to hang out in the relaxing eucalyptus steam room or sauna, or even just relax by the pool!

After the spa, we made our way for a sweet treat at CAKE by Franck, made by one of the top pastry chefs in the country!  We ended up grabbing coffee and a few of those gorgeous cupcakes – coconut buttercream, peanut butter chocolate and Jack Daniel’s flavor (you know who picked that one out) – and saved them to devour after a night out, because, you know… that always seems like a good idea at the time!

Foxwoods then treated us to a shopping spree at the new Tanger Outlet!  The outlets opened about a year and a half ago and is such a great addition to the casino – there are so many shops and such amazing deals at the outlets!  We stopped into a few stores like Kate Spade New York, H&M, Forever 21, Steve Madden, Sunglass Hut and Express – it’s honestly the best shopping with girls, something I don’t get to do quite often anymore!

We stopped for a quick glass of wine right in the middle of the casino at Centrale in Fox Tower before dinner!  The plush velvet red chairs remind me of Vegas – and so do some of the performances they have later at night!  It’s also lifted above the casino floor and has 360 degree views.  It’s the perfect spot to sit down and grab a drink!

We made our way back to our room – conveniently located at Fox Tower, right above where all the action is!  We changed into something a bit fancier, turned up the tunes and got ready for dinner and our night out!  We ate an amazing dinner at Cedars in Foxwoods – one of the oldest and well-known restaurants on the property.  We completely indulged on oysters, shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms and spring rolls for apps and split scallops and braised short ribs for our main entree!  We then walked off our meal heading back over to Fox Tower for drinks and dancing at Shrine, and finished the night at Scorpian Bar – an amazing tequila bar that plays amazing rock music at night!

The next morning – we wrapped up our weekend with brunch at Junior’s – a very well known Brooklyn spot that opened at Foxwoods as well!  We were laughing so hard we were all crying remembering the night before and already started planning a few more girl’s weekends for 2017 – including another bachelorette party to Austin!

A huge thanks to Foxwoods Resort Casino for our stay and spoiling us all weekend long!
