Hi, friends!  We’re going to chat ALL THINGS hair today.  I’m rounding up my favorite haircare products and tools that are in constant rotation in my beauty routine.  From what shampoo and conditioner I rotate between to how I keep my color from fading, let’s get to it!

PRODUCTS

Shampoo & Conditioner :: I’ve always been into rotating shampoos and conditioners and like “shocking” my hair when I go to use a product (I find my hair responds better than using a product over and over again).  Currently, I’m rotating between these two, with the first one being a constant since college.  For color protection, I love Kératase Reflection — I use the shampoo and the mask conditioner instead of the regular conditioner.  Strand Salon, my hair salon, is a huge advocate for Kérastase products, too, and highly recommended this line for my color-treated hair.  The mask also deep conditions and since I normally only wash my hair 2-3 days a week, it makes more sense to keep these two as a set (vs the regular conditioner).  On the other wash days, I’ve been loving Ouai for Medium Hair.  Ouai recently launched a brand new collection of shampoos and conditioners depending on hair thickness — they have sets for Fine, Medium and Thick hair.

Texture Spray :: No matter what else I try, I always come back to Oribe Dry Texture Spray — there’s nothing else like it.  I’ve been using it for YEARS and it’s worth the splurge.  It gives hair a perfectly lived-in look (I’m never a fan of my hair looking too perfect) without an ounce of grittiness.  I can spray this in my hair on a wash day after I’ve drying/curling and my hair still feels clean.  It’s also amazing to use for up-dos and braids and gives the hair a little more hold.  I use this instead of hair spray to keep my waves in place.

Dry Shampoo :: While I love a few, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day makes my hair feel the cleanest after use.  It absorbs all of the oil without leaving behind a crunchy texture that a lot of dry shampoos give.  I typically use this on day 3 hair and can even stretch into day 4 for an extra day — it’s that good!

Hair Oil :: Part of stretching out my blowouts comes from limiting the amount of product I start off with.  When I get out of the shower, I try to keep the product use to a minimum and love running this Oribe Hair Oil through the ends of my hair to hydrate and seal off any split ends.  A little goes a long way with this product — it not only smells amazing, but it’s hydrating without weighing down at all.  I also love using this on the ends of my hair when they are dry, a few days after a blowout.  Used with the dry shampoo, it makes my hair look healthy and fresh!

TOOLS

Curling Wand :: My go-to set for 6+ years, I cannot believe how long I have had this set — the T3 Micro Whirl Trio is worth EVERY PENNY, especially if you hold out and are able to grab it on sale (it’s on sale right now).  I love this set because I have used every single attachment depending on my hair length and the look I’m going for.  My most used is obviously the 1 inch wand, which gives very standard barrel curls that I like to brush out for a more beachy wave look.  The tapered wand (which is thicker at the bottom) is great for an effortless, air dried look.  At the moment, I’ve been loving the 1.5 inch biggest wand and love that it gives my hair just a slight bend that looks so natural.

Hair Dyer :: A splurge for sure, but I’ve had it since 2017 and it’s still going strong.  I’ve tried ALL THE HAIR DRYERS and while a lot are great, there is NOTHING like the Dyson Hair Dryer.  It dries my hair faster and with zero frizz — sometimes I forget the hype and use another dryer and reminded that the price tag is astronomical for a reason.  I have a full review of the Dyson Hair Dryer HERE — where I discuss if it’s worth the splurge and give my real, honest take on it.  And while I love the Revlon Brush Dryer — it’s not something I would recommend for everyday use!  If you blow dry your hair every single day, the Dyson is 100% worth the investment.

Shower Filter :: Since moving to a house with a well, this has been a necessity.  We have hard water, which does a NUMBER on hair — especially color-treated hair.  I went ahead and added these T3 Shower Heads to all of our showers, which have a built in filter, almost like a Brita.  The shower head is amazing (there’s a ton of water power settings, too) but the filter inside removes a ton of potential dirt, sediment and even chlorine (for treated city water).  It instantly made a difference from the first use, I just make sure to swap out the filters every 6 months.

De-Tangling Brush :: While I have a few different brushes (a round brush for blow drying and a boar head bristle brush which was a huge splurge), the Wet Brush is the game changer.  I have a few of them, but recently scooped up this new version and LOVE IT.  This is what I use to brush my wet hair out when I get out of the shower.  I always keep one in my beach bag as well and never travel without it!

Scrunchies & Claws :: Who would have thought the 90’s really knew whats up?  I’m back to LOVING scrunchies and use these silk scrunchies to keep my hair from creasing when I’m sleeping (I usually just put my hair into a loose bun at the top of my head and wrap a scrunchie around twice to keep in place).  I’m also REALLY into claw clips once again and have been using them to keep my hair out of my face when washing or doing makeup and have even been styling my hair with them!  I love this old school version jaw clip!
