Casual Holiday Style

It’s so crazy to me that this blog is over 6 years old — it feels like yesterday that my knees were shaking to hit “publish” on my first blog post ever which was September 2011.  One of the first big things to ever happen to this little corner of the internet was a collaboration with Kohl’s and Lauren Conrad back in March 2012.  The LC Lauren Conrad team was looking for their next “blogger” and somehow (and I still to this day don’t know how) — my name ended up in the running.  After a quick vote by her fans on her own blog, it was announced that I had made the top 5.  And, after a few friendly competitions between me and the other 4 bloggers where we styled LC Lauren Conrad pieces and her fans voted, I landed in third place. It was a huge, pivotal moment that brought so many more eyes to my content — I swear, before that it was just some friends and family following along with my “outfit diary.”  I guess you could call that my big break, and I’m still so beyond grateful.  I’m so excited to be teaming up with Kohl’s to style some newer holiday pieces from the LC Lauren Conrad line once again — although, I’m pretty sure my style and our photography has improved since last time.  😉

I’m normally all about dressing up for the holidays, but since our December is milder than usual — I’m gravitating towards more casual pieces this year.  I’m a sucker for oversized, cozy cardigans, and have been in a non-stop cranberry color buying spree, so this sweater was speaking my language when I spotted it a few weeks ago.  It’s the softest material ever and slouchy in all the right places.  I paired it with these cropped skinny jeans, velvet bow mules, and a pom beanie (that I ended up scooping up in two other colors as well).  I also added this velvet barrette when pulling back my hair — I’m beyond obsessed with hair accessories right now (which you probably know if you follow me on Instagram… #scrunchiesforlife).  All of these pieces would make perfect holiday gifts for that stylish lady in your life!  I love how the LC Lauren Conrad line is always effortlessly GLAM — it’s very much in line with my style and I love how accessible and affordable all of the pieces are!
