Everything I Wore in Riviera Maya, Mexico

HELLO, FRIENDS!  I can’t believe it’s 2019 — and a week into it!  It was nice to take a little break for the New Year and I’m finally back and getting into the swing of things!  I have SO MUCH content lined up for the next week including a full recap from one of the Mexico resorts we stayed at, some thoughts for starting off 2019 (and some exciting news!) + a full Q&A hair post that has been in the works for quite some time!

To start, I’m rounding up all of my resort looks from the past week and linking everything for you in one easy spot!  I had so many questions on everything I was wearing (including sizing info) so I’m answering some of the questions below!

Carmen Marc Valvo Safari

Straw Hat | Carmen Marc Valvo Swim Top & Bottom c/o Beach 2 Ocean Swim (wearing size SMALL in both) | Shell Anklet

Who said the leopard trend just had to be for the cold weather with faux fur and booties?!  I was so excited to bring this suit to Mexico and it just happened to be the first one I put on for Day ONE in the sun!  If you love high-waisted suit styles, grab this one ASAP.  It’s beyond flattering and those ties on the side are adjustable — I definitely loosened them after you know… holiday sweets and too much champagne! 😉

For Love & Lemons Ace Maxi Dress

For Love & Lemons Ace Maxi Dress (LOVE this brand, more styles HERE) | BaubleBar Earrings | Sole Society Heels (not pictured, but on MAJOR sale for under $35)

Probably my favorite NYE look of all time.  Raj and I actually realized that we had NEVER spent New Year’s Eve in warm weather, so I was determined to wear something a little different than I’ve been able to in the past.  This brand is actually the same brand I wore to my bridal shower almost 4 years ago, so when I spotted this one (and remembered how perfect the other dress fit), I scooped it up!  The price tag is high, but the details and uniqueness of the dress totally makes up for it and I was stopped ALL NIGHT long for dress deets.

Topshop Mom Shorts

Off-Shoulder Top | High-Waisted Shorts (wearing US 4) | Golden Goose Sneakers (wearing size 37, they run in whole sizes only and I find them to run TTS, size up if in between) — {more Golden Goose HERE + a less expensive brand with the same look HERE} | Straw Tote Bag

Coming off a GLAM New Year’s, I went pretty casual for the rest of the trip.  It felt so good to be back in denim shorts and I pulled this top back out from the back of my closet — it was one of my favorites from summer!  I also traveled in my favorite sneakers and wore them a few times this trip!  If you’re looking for a dupe of these shoes for a lot less, check out the brand I mentioned above!

L*Space Lee Lee Top

L*Space Top & Bottom (wearing size SMALL in both) | Ray Ban Pink Sunglasses

OKAYYY you girls LOVED this swimsuit.  I posted this and woke up to like 200+ DMs asking for sizing details and fit information!  I grabbed this suit on sale right before we left and ended up wearing it multiple times throughout the week.  If we had another vacation lined up, I would totally grab another color… that’s how good it is, and I’m usually against the multiple color rule!

Soludos Slide Sandals

Reformation Dress (wearing US 2) | Soludos Slide Sandals | Clear Tote (under $25)

I packed super light for this vacation (see some of my packing tips for a carry-on HERE), so these slide sandals were the only non-heeled sandals I brought and I was hoping they would go with everything!  They SO did.  I had my eye on these sandals for about a year and a half and always justified not needing them, but ended up scooping them up for my collab with Nordstrom and I’m so glad I brought them.  They were my most lived-in shoe all week.  I wore them during the day and to a casual dinner at night!  Also, YES to this tote.  It’s a dupe of a designer brand and under $25 (the designer brand is over $200).

WAYF Cutout Print Midi Dress

Cutout Midi Dress (wearing XS) | Slide Sandals (LOVE this brand) | Flower Earrings

I definitely loved pulling back out some old favorites for this trip and this dress was no exception.  It was one of my favorites from spring and summer and traveled with me to Jamaica in June and Palm Beach in May + it was what I wore to a Kentucky Derby party!  It’s on MAJOR markdown in some sizes right now, so grab it for a deal while you can!  I also ordered these shoes right before we left.  I wanted to bring along a nude, low-heel slide that I would be able to walk around the resorts in.  These did NOT disappoint.  They required ZERO break-in time + I love the little clear strap — super on trend and it gave a little fun pop!

Henley One Piece Swim

similar One-Piece Henley | similar Headband

Ohhh, this photo.  Hopefully you saw the behind-the-scenes of this photo on my Instagram Stories.  Otherwise, you missed a good time.  This henley swim was such a great find last summer but it instantly sold out.  I found a similar style below!  I love bringing along a great white one-piece suit that can double as a body suit.  I wore this with denim shorts and have styled it with a wrap skirt in past trips!

Topshop Mom Shorts

Topshop “Mom” Shorts (wearing US 4) | Slide Sandals | Straw Tote

In all honesty, when we booked this trip… I was dreading swimsuits and cutoffs.  I was just not mentally there yet.  As soon as I pulled these babies out of my suitcase, I remembered how much I love them.  I can’t say enough good things about these high-waisted shorts.  They were a find from over the summer last year — I found them on sale for $40 during the Nordstrom sale.  They are fully in stock (unfortunately not on sale) but still worth every penny!

Onia Danielle One Piece Swim

Straw Hat | Onia x We Wore What Swimsuit (wearing size S, obsessed with this collection)

If there was a swimsuit that represented my style, it’s this one.  Danielle from We Wore What collaborated with Onia and designed the most amazing line of swimwear I’ve ever seen.  I own this western belt (which you’ve seen me style 100 times), so this suit totally reminds me of it!  The fit is perfection, it’s double (or even triple) lined, so it’s not at ALL see-through, and is so flattering and comfortable!  I can’t say enough good things about it!  The only thing?  Once it’s gone, it’s GONE.  It’s a limited edition collaboration and they probably won’t restock this exact suit again.  Scoop it up now (even if you don’t have a trip planned) or you’ll be kicking yourself come summer!

Sole Society Swim Coverup

Swim Coverup

I’ve had this swim coverup for years and it comes along with me on every trip!  I love the neutral color, the tassels, and the tie-up neckline + it’s lightweight and travels easy (it doesn’t roll up into a wrinkled mess).

Free People Life Like This Dress

Free People Strapless Dress (wearing XS) | Wedges | Earrings

Couldn’t resist this pretty linen Free People dress when I saw it!  I always love Free People for sweaters and cozy gear during the winter time but instantly fell in love with this number and styled it twice on the trip — once with these popular wedges from last summer and again with my favorite slides and a denim jacket!

Wayf Lace Top

Wayf Lace Top | L*Space Swim Bottoms

I have a full post with this look coming later this week but wanted to share a sneak peek!  I found this fun, lace top on major sale so I threw it in my suitcase last minute!

Stay tuned for a full review of Unico 2087 — where we spent the last 4 days of our Riviera Maya trip!  We booked our Mexico trip very last minute (about 10 days before we left), so we ended up at two resorts for the trip, our favorite being the last leg!  Excited to share our thoughts and some other never seen photos — I had a lot of you asking for future trips!
