5 Items For Spring You NEED

5 Items for Spring 2018

I honestly thought we were getting off pretty easy this winter — February actually turned out to be relatively warm overall with barely any snow.  There’s that saying that “March comes in like a lion, and out like a lamb” and I’m pretty sure Mother Nature is testing that on us this year… we’re in for our THIRD Nor’Easter in less than two weeks.  So, let’s hope the rest of the month is a little less lion-ish, and a little more lamb-ish.  Our Bahamas trip was pushed back a week due to last week’s storm, so I’ve had the luxury of just staring at some new spring pieces just dying to be worn!  Until then, I’m just counting down until I can wear anything other than snow boots!

Here are 5 pieces I’m loving for spring, and I think you will too!

This statement bag.  I talked about how much I love statement bags this time of year over on this post a few weeks ago.  This is definitely the “it” bag of the year, and it’s selling out everywhere already!  If the price point is too high, I’m absolutely LOVING this little tote that I scooped up last year that is back in stock!  It was actually one of my most purchased pieces from all of you of 2017 and I have a feeling it’s going to be again this season!

This pom pom sweater.  I gushed over this sweater from the moment I saw it.  This was a huge trend over the fall and into the holidays last year and I love this lighter version — a little less chunky than we were seeing last season.  It looks great with any denim — I’ve worn it already with both distressed and white denim and tried it on with these cutoffs and a denim skirt.  It’s adorable!  I also found a similar style for under $40 for you!

The most perfect denim cutoffs, like ever.  I’ve been struggling a TON with cutoffs this year and sent about 5 other pair back after trying them on at home.  I love a distressed style, but have been looking for a pair that does 3 things.  1) sits higher on the waist, 2) comes down a little longer on the legs (not trying to show cheeks or anything like that), and 3) fits loosely for a casual feel, but don’t look sloppy.   I was so discouraged until I found this pair during the Shopbop sale a few weeks back!  You definitely need to size down one size — and I’d recommend ordering a few if you’re in between or unsure (instead of waiting) because the sizes are going FAST.

These pink sunglasses.  I love shopping in my own closet.  Since I’m a creature of habit, I wear the same pair of sunglasses 99% of the time, but when packing for the Bahamas last week, I remembered I had this fun pink pair from last year that didn’t get a ton of wear.  I’m bringing a lot of blush and pink dresses and swimsuits, and these will be perfect!

These comfortable wedges.  I was SO excited when I saw these Marc Fisher wedges this season.  The chunky wedges have been in style for a few years now — but I just couldn’t make the previous style work for some reason!  Although they don’t look THAT different, there is something much more subtle and feminine about this year’s version and they are no where near as clunky looking on me as they were in the past!
