The fall season is usually our “slow down” time – after a packed summer full of travel, weddings, lots of sun, and barely ever being home, I love to use this time of year to hit the reset button. Call it a “Fall Detox” if you will. From transitioning my summer wardrobe to fall and purging items I no longer need, to using clay masks on my skin, to using Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo to help remove product buildup. Sometimes, it just feels good to start fresh. I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Neutrogena today to give my life a little detox, including my hair! After traveling to Italy and Greece this summer with the strong sun and salt water and too much styling for weddings and NYFW, my hair was in major need of a little TLC. I love using the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo to help get rid of product buildup (I’m a notorious dry shampoo lover) and help bring back a little shine into my dull hair. I love to use this every week or two to keep my hair’s texture and color fresh!
Some other ways I’m participating in my own fall detox this year? A major closet purge. As daunting as it is to do, there’s no better feeling than organized. I make a “KEEP” and “DONATE” pile, bring up a large cup of coffee, and have at it – nothing is safe! My rule for purging before a season starts is, if I haven’t worn it in the last year, it stays in a box for storage (for now). If it’s been two years since I’ve worn it, it gets donated. And, even though we have a decent amount of closet space in our current house, I still need to store most of my seasonal clothes in bins and put into storage. When I go to take out the bins the next season, it’s like shopping in my own closet!
