I posted this green smoothie on my Instagram Stories last week and had SO many of you message me for the exact ingredients and recipe, so I thought I would share it here! I typically have a version of this smoothie a few times a week and absolutely love it for a late breakfast or early lunch. I’m not a big eater first thing in the morning, and I always have to workout on an empty stomach, so this smoothie is perfect to make when I come back from an AM class — it takes less than 5 minutes to whip up!
INGREDIENT LIST
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbs almond butter
1 cup of kale (stems removed)
1 whole banana
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1 tsp maca powder
1 tsp chia seeds
pinch of cinnamon
2-3 ice cubes
*I mentioned on my Instagram Stories that I had been having trouble with a “vegan” protein powder I recently purchased from Whole Foods — I didn’t realize it contained artificial sweetener Stevia, and I’ve had terrible reactions to it! A lot of you recommended Aloha Protein Powder and Vega Protein Powder, so I ordered both and will be giving them a try when they come in!
DIRECTIONS
De-stem kale leaves and add all of the ingredients to the blender (minus the ice cubes)
Blend on high for 1-2 minutes, adding the ice cubes when everything else is completely blended (this ensures the kale is completely blended and not just chopped).
Garnish with sliced banana, chia seeds & hemp hearts and a cute pink straw.

February 21, 2018 at 2:02 pmHey Christina … I do similar shakes here after workouts and so do the boys.
This is by far the best protein powder we’ve tried and we’ve tried many from the health food section and GNC, etc.
This one is amazing:
