Favorite Summer 2017 Trends

Tomorrow officially kicks of summer, so I’m rounding up my favorite trends to look forward to this season! We’re heading off to Newport, RI later today and will be there for my best friend’s wedding this weekend and into next week, so most of these trends will be packed up in my suitcase to style by the water! ONE SHOULDER TOPS

We had a few years of the off-the-shoulder top being the statement top of choice, but this season — it’s all about baring one shoulder! This exact one shoulder top is a favorite of mine and can be dressed up or down — plus, it’s currently on sale for $22 (originally $89)!

ESPADRILLE SNEAKERS

I rave about espadrille sneakers all the time, and I will milk this trend until it’s dead. There are so many options this summer (as opposed to last summer when I couldn’t find any after coming back from our Europe trips)!

EMBROIDERY

Definitely one of my favorites of this list — embroidered details are on everything from dresses, to jackets, to even shoes this season!

SCALLOPED SWIMWEAR

Marysia Swim started this trend a few years back and its gained so much traction the last few seasons — I’m obsessed and just keep adding to my collection! I have all of the swimwear below but added a few budget friendly options to the list!

STRAW STATEMENT BAGS

One of my most complimented pieces ever is the bamboo clutch — it’s been the it bag of the season and I was able to grab it before it sold out (and restocked, and sold out x10). It’s available again for pre-order so I linked to some similar styles to get you through the summer!

DENIM MINI SKIRTS

It’s back and better than ever. The denim mini is one of those trends that never seems to go away, like the denim jacket — but it’s more prominent this season than it has been in the last few years. Look for a high-waisted one so you’ll feel a little less Abercrombie & Fitch and a little more chic.

MOM JEANS

High waisted jeans are baccccck! I am full-on obsessed with this trend and just scooped up this pair from a new favorite brand, GRLFRND Denim. They seriously have the most amazing, flattering high-waisted styles — and, if you’ve searched for high-waisted denim before, you know that’s quite a feat!
