Festival Inspired Fashion (Even If You Aren’t Heading to a Festival)

A huge thanks to Walmart and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.

Raise your hand if you’re participating in COUCH-ella this year!?  My hubby and I were invited to a few festival events this year but with the recent move (and upcoming renovations), we decided it wasn’t the best use of our time!  Even if you aren’t heading to any festivals like us, spring/summer is the best time to add little boho touches to your outfits!

In case you guys missed the news I shared a few weeks back, Walmart now carries Lord & Taylor which means so many of my fashion brands are now available on Walmart.com AND with free two-day shipping with qualifying orders over $35!  I’m teaming back up with Walmart to style a look featuring a few new pieces that are perfect for when you want a festival-ish look, without the festival!

FESTIVAL STYLE TOUCHES YOU CAN ADD TO ANY OUTFIT

A silky scarf.  My go-to accessory!  I love a silk scarf in a fun pattern (with neutral colors) because you can wear it so many different ways — in your hair, around your neck, or even tied onto a bag.  Try adding one to your ponytail, or even tying one around your head and knotting it in the front — the hair accessory trend is HUGE right now and it’s an easy way to add a little personality to an outfit that starts with the basics!  I found a 5-pack of these for under $15!

Cognac accessories.  A color that has stood the test of time as one of my favorites — seriously, some of my most-loved pieces EVER have been a beautiful cognac!  It’s a durable neutral that doesn’t show marks and wear like your typical beiges and tans.  When I spotted these bow strap sandals, I knew these were the piece I wanted to create my outfit around!  Not only are they extremely comfortable (the ankle strap is adjustable and the material is so soft… ZERO blisters), but they can be styled SO many different ways throughout the spring and summer months and with just about anything in your closet!

High-waist cropped jeans.  I can’t get enough of this style right now!  Tanks and tees look amazing cropped and knotted with these jeans and blouses look so flattering tucked in!  AND, since the cropped style is so huge right now, you should pull out all your statement sandals and SHOW THEM OFF!  These jeans also look amazing with a pair of ankle boots and would be perfect for festival go-ers!

Suede touches.  Let’s be honest, spring in Connecticut does not mean WARM by any means, so I’m always pulling back out my suede jackets from the fall and winter.  A suede jacket in a lighter shade is your best best for spring and looks amazing with light wash denim or over your spring dresses!

A fun bag. Festival season is the best time to pull out all the stop when it comes to statement bags… seriously, you can play with multiple trends at once if you want (and it’s totally appropriate).  Walmart has so many fun styles at really affordable price points like this boho crossbody or this rose gold fanny pack (which you could also wear like a cross body across your chest).

I wore this look out to a fun girl’s day lunch with my Mom at one of my favorite local CT spots: Zohara in West Hartford.  I’m so honored to be part of Walmart’s ‘We Dress America’ campaign!
