Three Spring Looks in Charleston with Lulus

A huge thanks to Lulus for sponsoring today’s post.

I was so excited to head back to one of my favorite places ever — Charleston, South Carolina, after visiting for the first time a little over a year ago!  My friend Kristin moved there earlier this year and I was first in line for a much needed visit!  You may remember that both Raj and I actually visited last spring because Kristin was getting married there, and we immediately fell in love!  It’s an absolutely beautiful place filled with so much culture and history, and I was excited to be spending this trip with a local!  I have so much to share over the next few days — so make sure you’re following me on Instagram!

I brought along some new spring pieces from Lulus and styled them throughout the trip!  We ended up getting crazy lucky with the weather — 75 and sunny the entire 4 days!  It’s having me craving warmer weather here in CT and I basically want every single Lulus dress they make!

EMBROIDERED MIDI DRESS

Embroidered Midi Dress & Studded Sandals c/o Lulus

This was honestly my favorite look of my trip!  I always try to dress appropriately and for the occasion depending on where I’m traveling to and it’s fun to experiment with styles or colors I would look crazy wearing at home.  I’m not a girlie girl, but there’s something about the Charleston pastel houses that makes me want to incorporate a few flowy floral dresses into the mix, but I’m still always conscious to remain true to who I am and what I’m comfortable in.  I saw this black midi dress and started immediately obsessing over the details: the embroidery, comfy halter neckline, tassel ties, cutout waist, and that unexpected high slit — I was in love!  I paired it with these comfy Steve Madden studded sandals and wore it to a night out for dinner and drinks!  Charleston is known for its cobblestone streets, so these stacked sandals are perfect for adding a little height (and a little edge).

STRIPED OFF-THE-SHOULDER MIDI DRESS

Embroidered Denim Jacket, Striped Midi Dress, & Platform Espadrille Sneakers c/o Lulus

Sticking with the embroidery trend that I absolutely love — I actually planned this outfit around around this denim jacket that I had been crushing on!  I paired it with this fun vertical striped off-the-shoulder dress to play on the embroidered colors.  I’m also super into the platform espadrille trend and love this option for under $100 — the sneaker material is super soft and there was absolutely zero downtime to break them in.  These sneakers were also what I ended up traveling in both days!

CHAMBRAY ROMPER

Chambray Romper, Gold Layered Necklace, & Lace-Up Sandals c/o Lulus

For a comfier option for sightseeing, I love this off-the-shoulder chambray option with these fun tassel lace-up sandals!  I’ve loved the lace-up sandal trend in the past and have normally gone with bright color embellishments, but loved the gold and muted colors on this pair!

Can’t wait to share a little more about my trip this week — I’ll be sharing a GLAM Travel Diary here on the blog as well as a few outfit posts!
