Another outfit from last week in The Outerbanks!  I had worn this floral silk maxi dress to my friend’s bridal shower back in April and couldn’t wait to pack it up and wear it in some warmer weather.  You all know I can never resist anything floral – but a black floral print is so versatile and can be dressed up and down depending on your accessories!  It’s a perfect dress to bring on vacation since you can get a few different wears out of it!

I had previously dressed it up with a pair of black strappy sandals and my favorite quilted crossbody bag – and it would be perfect to wear to a wedding just like that!  For our trip to The Outerbanks, I wanted to bring it along in case we ended up having a fancy night, but ended up dressing it down with these nude blocked heels.  I thought about wearing it with my Chloé crossbody bag, but ended up loving the different prints with this leopard clutch.  I never get too stressed out about anything being matchy-matchy, especially when I’m away – and this outfit is a perfect example.  Sometimes it’s fun to work with what you have and mix and match pieces you wouldn’t otherwise put together!  I think this look could have been pretty standard, but I ended up loving the fun vibe the clutch gave the dress!

We’re down to the ONE WEEK count for our trip to Italy – and for those who figured it out, YES, it’s actually our honeymoon!  We did our local mini-moon to Newport, RI back in August last year right after our wedding and wanted to save another intense round of planning a trip for 2016.  When we decided on Italy, we researched the best time to go – and we heard June and July were amazing – and, now it’s finally here!  We’re heading off to Milan, Lake Como, Venice, Florence and Sorrento – and would LOVE any recommendations you have at any of these locations!
