Style | 3 Trends I’m Loving for Spring

Spring Trends 2017

The temperature has changed so much in the last week — we went from a straight up blizzard and insane wind gusts to a perfect mild spring forecast which is melting all that dirty snow away.  It has me craving spring (I know this won’t last), so I’ve already started adding some spring wardrobe pieces to my outfits!  I’m breaking down a few of my favorite trends for spring (there will be a larger post on this topic coming very soon), and showing you how you can add these pieces into your looks in the meantime!

Raw Hem Denim

I’ve been a fan for the last year and a half and have been slowly adding a few pair here and there to my wardrobe — never imagining in a million years that they would end up being my go-to pick out of some other favorites so soon!  My trick is to get them with a high-waist so you can tuck in your top — it helps to elongate the top half of you since most of these styles are cropped.  I splurged on a pair of Mother Denim first and then added these Paige jeans earlier in the fall, but a lot of inexpensive denim brands have jumped on the trend and the price point has lowered — you can now find a few pair around $70!

Neckerchiefs

I tried out this trend last spring with a bandana (seen here) and really loved how it added a little something extra to my outfit.  Silk neckerchiefs are back and you can use them a number of ways — you can tie one around your neck (both in a bow like I’m wearing above and double knotted), tie around one of the straps on your bag for a little pop of color or print and tie around your head to make a headband (I love doing this in tropical locations).  It feels a little western inspired but also really chic at the same time!

Slide Loafers

I snagged a few pair of these back last spring too before making my big purchase of these Gucci slides I had wanted since seeing them in Florence.  If there’s a shoe that goes with everything that is also beyond comfortable — this is it.  I’ve started to gravitate towards flats over the last few years (you used to not be able to pry heels off my feet but times have changed), but I struggle a ton with blisters and it takes so long for me to break in most flats.  Anyone else!?  Slide loafers have been a game changer for me and I’ve worn them with everything from shorts, to dresses, to both skinny and cropped jeans and pants — and are my favorite pair of shoes to travel in (they just slide right off going through security).  The price point on mine is high (but worth every single penny to me), but there are so many similar styles for you to get the look for a whole lot less!

Like I mentioned above, you all loved my winter trend post I did earlier in the season so I’m working on a similar post for spring!  These three trends will most definitely be included but I’ll be rounding up some other trends I think are worth the investment and sharing the pieces I think you should grab!

Loafers are def. a trend that I’m loving and will be wearing a lot in Spring and Summer.
