Trend Edit: Belt Bags

Rebecca Minkoff Belt Bag

Leopard Top | Denim Cutoffs (love this brand) | Rebecca Minkoff Belt Bag (other styles HERE)

This trend wasn’t as big of a hit with 68% of you over on the Instagram Stories poll I did, but I am SUCH a fan, so hear me out!  You all know how much I love trying out trends — this series is called TREND EDIT for a reason, but I love even more when trends are actually practical!  AND, LET ME TELL YOU GUYS, this trend couldn’t be ANY MORE practical!  Similar to the crossbody bag that everyone and their mother owns, this trend lets you go hands freeENTER: the belt bag.  Yes, it’s technically a fanny pack, but we’ve updated the term to BELT BAG to be a little more chic.  We’ve seen this trend for a few years on the runway and just about every designer alive is creating their version of it!  Someone, somewhere… decided that you could not only wear a belt bag around your WAIST, but could also wear it around your chest.  I WANT TO HUG THAT PERSON!  I jumped on the bandwagon almost immediately and have worn a belt bag just about everywhere it made sense: New York Fashion Week, concerts and festivals, long travel days, and even horseback riding this past summer.  It not only allows you to hold a good amount of your stuff (especially this style), but also keep those items close to you — unlike a crossbody bag that’s a little harder to keep track of.  Anyone else always find that your crossbody bag ends up on your backside while you’re walking and moving around?!  It makes it a huge target for theft, especially in crowds!

My goal with the TREND EDIT series is to take trends that seem intimidating and wear them in a more relatable way… in hopes that you all can possibly try something new that you may not have wanted to try!  I’ve included some of my favorite styles below at a few different price points!  My Rebecca Minkoff bag is actually on major sale for 50% off!
