It’s should come as no surprise that this born and raised Connecticut girl likes dressing for fall. It’s my absolute favorite time of the year and I actually look forward to getting out of bed everyday and putting on an outfit — layers, cozy sweaters, comfortable boots… what’s not to love?! I’m rounding up a list of what I’m loving this fall and sharing what I’ll be pulling back out of my closet from past seasons as well as some newer trends I’ll be rocking this year! A lot of these photos are from years past, so I’m sharing some similar pieces for you to be able to get the look as well. TO SHOP, you can either click on the links under the photos (I’m sharing a lot of great dupes and/or similar options) OR click on the product widgets to shop — you can slide the widget for more options!
A PLAID BLAZER:
Such a staple piece that you should definitely have in your closet. What I love about a plaid blazer is that it should last you for years to come! Grab one and SAVE IT. It’s a “trendy” piece right now, but it’s considered a classic. I love wearing mine over a thin turtleneck and jeans, over a mini skirt and blouse, and over a plain black dress!

FAUX LEATHER PANTS:
similar Faux Leather Pants
I’ve had this same pair of faux leather pants from Zara for YEARS, and they are finally on their way out. I basically wore them to the ground and it’s definitely time for a high-waisted replacement. I say this every year, but I’m a stickler for finding a pair with POCKETS on the back, but that’s just me. I just hate having my rear exposed in something so tight, so I always look for back pockets.
MY FAVORITE WHITE BOOTIES:
exact Booties (so many great styles at all different price points HERE)
In order to keep a look from being too dark, especially in early fall, I love using white accessories. These booties were one of the best buys for me in a long time. I wore them so much that I actually needed to replace the heel and get them cleaned up earlier this year, but it was worth every penny! There are some great similar styles this year and this trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
STATEMENT SWEATERS:
exact Cutout Sweater
In addition to thick, chunky sweaters — look for sweaters with fun details this season! There are so many styles with statement sleeves, statement shoulders and colorful patterns!
TAN BOOTIES:
exact Tan Booties (some great under $150 options HERE)
Another pair of my booties that finally need a replacement after lasting for almost FIVE years (they are so creased and stained… definitely need to invest in some shoe trees for my boots). I scooped up this pair with a little more of a pointed toe and some fun hardware detailing for this season! I knew I needed a replacement ASAP because this is probably my most worn style of the season. They go with everything!
MY CAMEL COAT:
similar Camel Coat
This style was under $100 from H&M years ago and I haven’t been able to find ANYTHING even remotely as good for the price, so rather than even try to replace, I just keep wearing this style over and over again. I’ve had this coat since before I started the blog… 7 YEARS AGO… how crazy is that? Just goes to show that this is such a classic style that you should get on board with (if you haven’t already). Every time I throw this over my outfit, I feel like it immediately takes it to another level — seriously, instant chic!
BAKER BOY HATS:
exact Hat
Y’all weren’t on board with this trend when I started wearing it over a year ago, but you seem to be coming around to it now! I’m such a sucker for hats! They help with a bad hair day and also just tie a look together and it’s a great way to add a pop of color to a look. I have this style hat in black, cognac, and off-white!
SLOUCHY BOOTS:
exact Boots (linking a bunch of favorites HERE)
SO pumped for this trend this year. After years of over-the-knee styles, we’re finally adding a new fun tall boot into the mix! I can’t say enough good things about these boots from Raye The Label — I wore them during NYFW and not only were they stylish, they were actually very comfortable and sturdy.
What pieces are you excited to wear this fall season?!
