My Self Tan Routine

Self Tan Routine

Since vacation is no where on the horizon, it’s been more important than ever for me to keep a little faux color going on my pasty casper skin.  I’m sharing how I exfoliate, tan and maintain a glow this time of year and some of my budget-friendly must-haves!

EXFOLIATE

I love using this exfoliating mitt to remove any leftover tan from previous self tanners — this mitt gets everything off without having to scrub! I also always, always, ALWAYS start off with a clean shave and my Billie razor is a go-to — I make sure to switch the blade out prior so it’s a nice, smooth shave.  I also love finishing my prep routine with a little body scrub — this Kopari one is a favorite that leaves my skin hydrated and even.

TAN

I have a few different self tanners in rotation depending on what time of year it is and how I want my tan to look.  For a year-round glow, I still love St Tropez, which has been a favorite of mine for about 15 years, no joke.  For me, it gives such a subtle olive glow which looks natural and healthy, and it tends to stay on me for about a week without needing to reapply.  For a summer look (like I-just-got-off-the-beach-tan), I love using Loving Tan in (shade Dark) which has a more pink/red undertone.  For a budget-friendly tan (where I won’t feel guilty going through bottles and bottles), I loooove St. Moriz Tan (shade Dark).

MAINTAIN

To keep that freshly tan skinned going, you need to hydrate!  I lather on this body lotion from Rodan + Fields every single day (this stuff is THE BEST) and mix in a hint of Tan-Luxe The Body Drops to keep my tan from fading (and also to keep it even from shaving).
