Glow in the Dark

Neon Blouse

Neon Blouse

Neon Blouse Neon Blouse Neon Blouse Neon Blouse{Blouse: Forever 21 || Jeans: Paige || Heels: Zara (old) || Bag: Rebecca Minkoff || Sunglasses: Ray Ban || Collar Necklace: Forever 21 || Bracelets: c/o BFREND, c/o Stella & Dot|| Rings: c/o delia langanc/o Amarilo}

Neon can be such an intimidating trend, and up until I bought this blouse, I had only dabbled in experimenting with heels and this belt.  Since I was already out of my comfort zone, I kept the rest of the outfit simple with some of my favorite classics including my favorite collar necklace which doesn’t get nearly enough attention!  Have you tried the neon trend yet?

Metallics & Cargos

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I wore this outfit to work almost 2 weeks ago.  But between the awful (slash unpredictable) CT weather and me feeling slightly under the weather, we had to wait until this weekend to shoot it!  I just loooove these cargo pants that I snagged at UO and I love finding new ways to style them.  I decided to go with a metallic shirt that I bought a few seasons ago at Anthro… I love the contrast between the girlie-ness of the metallic against the boyish cargo skinnies.  I’ve actually had this cream-colored blazer for close to 4 years if you can believe it.  Just shows that when you invest in a classic staple, you’ll get PLENTY of use out of it.  And they’re still selling the exact same blazer!  Since I was feeling kind of spring-y a little early, I decided to finish the look with a classic black pump.  Because in my book… you can never go wrong with a classic black pump! :)

Peplum & Purple

{BB Dakota jacket (sold out, similar here), Tobi peplum top, 7 for all Mankind jeans, Zara heels, Rebecca Minkoff bag, ASOS bracelet, Rings: JewelMint c/o, Delia Langan Jewelry c/o}

The peplum trend has been in my wardrobe for a couple of years now in the form of dresses. I loved that it always gave a little extra something to a basic solid color dress. The runways during NYFW showed that the peplum trend was not going anywhere (despite a lot of people assuming this would be a quick come and go trend) so I picked up this Tobi blouse in white which will take me into spring. I’ve seen peplum tops over flowy bottoms, but that doesn’t work for me. I like to keep the bottom tailored… skinny jeans and pencil skirts tend to work best.

I picked up these Zara shoes during my trip to New York for Fashion Week which add a very trendy pop of burgundy to my neutral outfits. You can expect to see these styled on this blog a lot over the next few months… burgundy is the color of the season after all!

Don’t forget to enter my delia langan jewelry giveaway! The winner will be announced on Thursday!
