If you ask me for my favorite season, it’s FALL all the way, because, while I’ll admit, I’m usually cold, I love to bundle up and wear lots of layers.   Don’t get that confused with freezing, bone-chilling winter weather — that type of cold starts to wear on me after a while.  With that said, there’s nothing like the first snow of the season — it’s always magical.  The weather forecasters barely mentioned the snow ahead of time (which usually means we’re in for it) until about 2 days before.  So, Saturday morning, we woke up to quite a treat.  I cracked open the curtains and started to see some flurries, and within an hour, (and two coffees later) — there was a fresh layer of white powdery snow coating our lawn.  It’s always my favorite thing to see, and the blogger in me immediately gets excited (and grabs the camera).  I try to take advantage before we’re knee deep in dirty snow and everything just looks like the apocalypse and use the first snow to do an annual photoshoot in my front lawn (you can see other year’s HERE and HERE).  Our mailman TRIED to ruin it — I saw him walking straight across the lawn, pressing his boot prints into my blank canvas when there was a perfectly SHOVELED walkway and freshly snow-blown driveway… but there ended up being a few inches of snow, so his tracks were covered in no time!

I bundled up in this cozy v-neck sweater layered over a thin ribbed turtleneck for extra warmth!  I saw the BLACK color was sold out at Express, so I found another similar style on sale for you for just $15!  Seriously, buy them in ALL THE COLORS, I wear a color almost every single day in the winter months.  I also secretly layered a pair of thick black tights under these faux leather pants for another layer on the bottom — I’m always all about those layers, even the thinnest layer can make the biggest difference!

This exact blanket sold out, but there’s still the red version in stock!  I found a very similar scarf in the same print on sale for just $8– it’s just a lot smaller, but will still give you the same look!  If you’re going to buy ONE THING though from the post, make it these Sorel boots.  I’m not kidding, add them to your holiday list, or save your Christmas money to grab a pair!  This exact pair is going on FIVE YEARS strong… they have been worth every single penny I spent on them.  I’m typically a size 7 and am wearing that size in this style.  I found the exact pair I’m wearing on sale for $155 (about $20 off).  They don’t typically go on sale, so every little bit helps, right?!

I have SUCH a fun post coming to you tomorrow that’s a little more GLAM — make sure to stop by and check it out!
