Fall Must-Haves

I’ve rounded up my favorite must-have items for this fall season now that we’re already a week into October… seriously, does time just fly or is it just me?!  If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve probably seen which items have already made their way into my closet.  The rest are on my Fall wishlist!

{OUTERWEAR} – A statement jacket is a must this season, especially for us kids living in New England.  There’s only so many ways to make an outfit look cute in the freezing cold… enter a statement jacket (think plaid, leopard, florals).  It helps keep an outfit interesting. //  Next up… the cape!  I’m so excited that these are back and easy to find this year!  There’s something so chic and timeless about a cape.  Add a pair of leather gloves and I just might die of excitement.  // And lastly, invest in leather!  If you’re not on board with the leather jacket trend or think it’s too edgy for you, leather accents can help you work it!

{BOOTS} – I’ve been in love with these western inspired boots since last year and finally got my hands on them!  They look great with basically anything and are so practical and comfortable.  // Buckled accents are also huge on boots this season.  We’re seeing them on everything from moto style to dressier pairs.  Add them to a basic jeans and sweater look and you’ll feel so put together.  // I still need to invest in a pair of quality riding boots and these are on the top of my list!  I love a beautiful pair of brown boots and Tory Burch really can do no wrong!  // My over-the-knee boots got an upgrade this season and I’ve already worn them… these are hands down the one pair of boots you absolutely need this year!

{DENIM} – If you read this blog often, you’ll know how much of a denim lover I am.  I love the look of leather pants for the cooler months, but if that seems a bit too much but you still like the look… a great pair of coated jeans are the way to go! // The denim skirt is back (I’ve been saying it for months) and I’m obsessed with the new pencil shape.  Grab one of these immediately!  There are so many ways to make this look chic… riding boots and a plaid shirt, a black blazer and pointy toe pumps or over-the-knee boots and a chunky sweater.  Endless possibilities! // A great pair of black skinny jeans should 100% be in your closet.  I wear my high-waisted ones multiple times a week to meetings, on weekends and even just hanging around.  // Lastly, the HUGE trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere is distressed denim.  If you’ve been on the fence about this look and not sure how much longer it will be around, now is the time to get on board.  Distressed denim is here to stay and you can find really affordable options everywhere.

{ACCESSORIES} – When it’s cold, there’s no better time to layer up and break out the accessories!  I’ve been eying this leopard foldover clutch for years (literally) but haven’t taken the plunge.  This dotted version just might be what puts me over the edge!  // As a hat connoisseur, it should be obvious this makes my list.  I wear these year round and have been since way before I even started my blog.  Is it sad my outfit doesn’t even feel complete without a hat addition?  // My black aviators were on my wishlist last year and I am so happy I invested in these before they sold out everywhere.  I’m thrilled that they’ve been restocked and are staying in style!  Aviators are my go-tos and these are my favorite pair!
