Messy Fishtail Braid with Garnier

Garnier Messy Fishtail

I’ve teamed up with Garnier today to show you how to do a messy fishtail braid using their new (and amazing) De-Constructed Texture Tease spray!  This look is perfect for the last summer weddings and will look so cute under a hat for the cooler months!

GET THE LOOK

Garnier Step 1-2

{Step 1} – Start out by curling random sections of hair (about 1 inch thick) around the barrel of a large curling iron.

{Step 2} – Comb through your fresh curls using your fingers.

Garnier Steps 3-4

{Step 3} – Spray the roots of your hair using Garnier De-Constructed Texture Tease to create a messy “bedhead” type of look.

{Step 4} – Spray the ends of your hair and continue to scrunch through for extra texture (this is great for the braid we’re about to do).

Garnier Steps 5-6

{Step 5} – Bring your hair over to one side and separate into two even sections to start the fishtail braid.  If you have shorter bangs (like me), make sure to leave out those front sections of hair.

{Step 6} – Start pulling sections of hair from the outside and pull them over to the other section.  You can alternate different size strands of hair for extra texture and a more messy look.

Garnier Steps 7-8

{Step 7} – Continue braiding the hair until you’re about 2 inches from the bottom and secure with a clear elastic.

{Step 8} – Pull apart the hair at the sides to loosen the braid.

Garnier Steps 9-10

{Step 9} – Pull a few pieces of hair out around your ears.  You’re left with a messy fishtail braid!

{Step 10} – Clip a barrette near the start of the braid for a pop of GLAM!
