One thing I have noticed throughout the years is that my skin does best when following a routine (I’m sure everyone’s does). Since my schedule is different every single day after taking the blog full-time, I’ve found this to be quite challenging to keep up with this past year, and my skin has definitely taken the heat for that. I vowed that for the last year in my twenties, I was going to get myself back on track: get back into a daily routine, try to wake up at the same time every morning, get dressed every morning (even though I’m working from home), get back into a workout routine (I slacked a little after the wedding), and really get back into a skincare routine. It was time to hit that reset button. Winter is the perfect time to switch up your skincare routine as my face tends to need a little extra TLC this time of year. I teamed up with bareMinerals, one of my absolute favorite beauty brands, and tried out their new Skinsorials line of cleaners and moisturizers over the past few weeks, and I’m so excited to share my thoughts, because I really love these products.
First, a little background. My skin tends to be on the dry side and what I found over the years was that I was always trying to fight blemishes and breakouts with products way too harsh for my skin. I was using products that were stripping away moisture, which caused my skin to overcompensate, which always led to more breakouts. I’ve been able to end this vicious cycle by using a gentle cleanser and thick face cream.
When I received the entire line of Skinsorials by bareMinerals, I had to select from 4 different cleansers and 4 different face creams. The line reaches all different skin types, from oily/combination skin types all the way to dry skin (that’s me). Knowing my skin type and that we’re in the middle of winter, I made sure to select the Pure Plush Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam and Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream. However, the products are made to mix and match depending on what’s going on with your skin (or the current season). I was also so excited to try the Skinlongevity Vital Infusion as I had been getting sneak peeks of this product launch here and there from the bareMinerals team for months! And although I tend to shower at night after working out, I’ve been making sure to wash my face again in the morning and have been following this routine for the last few weeks.
I use the Pure Plush Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam and lather my face using lukewarm water. The formula starts off as a thick cream (it honestly feels like face cream) and then changes into a foam as you start rubbing your hands together. It definitely feels like it’s removing oil and makeup, but my skin feels so hydrated after using it. I’m keeping the other products, Blemish Remedy, Clay Chameleon, and Oil Obsessed, on standby for when I need to switch things up!
After drying my face, I apply a couple of pumps of the Skinlongevity Vital Infusion to my entire neck and face. It’s definitely helped with my complexion over the last few weeks and longterm is supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles. Seriously, the smell alone is enough for me to apply it!
I finish the 3 part beauty routine with a few dabs of Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream to my entire neck and face. I love how thick this cream is and a little goes a long way. My skin has never felt so hydrated in my life. There’s also a few other moisturizers for other skin types including Bare Haven, True Oasis, and Smart Combination.
My skin has been feeling great these last few weeks and I can definitely notice a difference in the texture and overall appearance. Thanks to all of you who noticed too and sent me some sweet Snapchats in response to me talking about this collaboration earlier this week, you totally made my life. Make sure to check out the entire new Skinsorials line of cleaners and moisturizers and the new Skinlongevity Vital Infusion if you need to switch up your skincare routine this winter!
