Accessories First

When trying to create new looks for the blog, I always start by picking out the one or two items I want to anchor the outfit with. Sometimes that piece is comfy distressed denim or a flowy printed top. But sometimes I like to let the accessories do the talking. I’m teaming up with Target today to bring you two fresh looks that were built accessories first! I have to admit, most of the time, my accessories are put on last, but I was certainly up for the challenge!

Let me start by reiterating how much I love cold-weather accessories. I know, how sick are you of hearing that from me? There’s just something about a pom beanie and faux fur mittens that just screams adorable to me, and I’m instantly transported to being a little girl, all bundled up in my jacket, hat, and gloves! I definitely took this look up a notch from the girl department by layering this cozy sweater dress and camel coat with these over-the-knee boots! Although the outfit says adult, the hat and mittens keep the overall feel playful and casual.

My second look features this faux fur infinity scarf (my second from Target). I love, love, love faux fur scarves (as seen here and here), and find myself wearing them constantly around the holidays! They instantly dress up any outfit, so I paired this black one with my favorite leather jacket, jersey turtleneck, and suede skirt!
