One of my style resolutions for 2016 is to embrace more simplicity.  As much as I love neutrals, I’m someone who constantly gravitates towards boho style prints, but I find myself bored of them after a few quick wears.  I’ve slowly been building a collection of neutrals that can be worn time and time again, and mixed and matched with other staple pieces.  I picked up this camel coat in fall of 2014 (seen here, here and here) and I’m surprised how much I want to reach for it to top off an outfit… usually, I’m trying to do everything and anything to avoid having to wear a coat over an outfit!  I love that this look is simple at its bones, but incorporates trends like the fringe sweater, distressed denim and lace-up flats to help take it to another (less basic) level.  We had an unusually warm December (when these photos were shot), but if you’re in New England, you can easily swap out the flats for a pair of booties now that the temperatures have finally dropped.  Winter is coming here.
