I’m the first to admit that I like some of the finer things in life.  I remember a few years ago the feeling of splurging on my very first “designer” bag, after saving up for quite some time.  My Celine Luggage Tote was the first real reward I gave myself after working nearly two years at both my full-time job at the time and the long hours building Oh So Glam after I clocked out.  I actually purchased that bag through Portero, my now-favorite pre-owned luxury website.

Why would I buy a bag pre-owned, you might ask?  First, Celine doesn’t sell anything direct online, so if you live outside a major city, you need to get your little behind to one of their boutique locations to be able to purchase anything.  Second, the Luggage Tote at the time had only been around for a few years and there was a waiting list for a brand new one (let’s just say I called around, a lot, and didn’t have the guts to pull a, “oh, it’s not for me… it’s for Lucy Liu” stunt).  And lastly, just because I was splurging on something didn’t mean I had to wipe my entire savings.  I was able to buy my beautiful pre-owned Celine at a discount making it a smart investment.  See, Dad! I was listening to all those finance discussions!

It’s funny when life comes full circle because here I am, teaming up with the very first website that fed my (now) addiction to designer items.  Portero is the ultimate destination for all kinds of designer luxuries.  Loads of Chanel Boy bags, Cartier Love Bangles, Louis Vuitton Keepall duffles, and probably the largest inventory of Hermès Birkin bags you’ll ever see in your life… seriously.  One of the biggest scares when buying anything used online is whether the site is reputable or not.  With Portero, authenticity is 100% guaranteed, the condition of the bag is told to you upfront (no surprises there) and the website is secure to purchase from.  I recently met with the Portero team in NYC and they explained to me in detail just how much goes into selecting pre-owned items to sell.  Each item is carefully and accurately described and nothing is taken in poor condition.  When this grey Yves Saint Laurent bag showed up on my doorstep, you would have mistaken it for brand new if you didn’t know better!  The fun part of Portero is keeping an eye on what comes into the online store, as new inventory is coming in daily!  It goes fast too though, so you won’t want to wait if you see something you like!

I can’t wait to show you more with Portero in 2016.  We met earlier this month and have a ton of fun collaborations to share early next year, so make sure to stay tuned here on Oh So Glam and the Portero blog for some upcoming designer projects!
