You all know how regimented I’ve been with skincare the last few years and I’ve finally found a routine that’s completely changed my complexion. One step I never miss is applying a moisturizer with SPF — even on those cloudy days! Perricone MD reached out to me about a month ago and asked me to try the Pre:Empt Daily Brightening SPF moisturizer for a review. I’ve been working it into my routine for the last few weeks and absolutely LOVE it. The formula is more lightweight than my previous moisturizer with SPF and perfect as we transition into cooler weather!
Since hitting the big 3-0 last year, I’ve been more strict on myself than I used to be when it comes to working out, my eating habits, and my skincare routine. Unlike my twenties, I can no longer bounce back from a weekend of binge eating, month-long stretches of not working out, or nights when I “forget” to take my makeup off. If I mess up, I pay the price. It’s been really important to me to keep up with a healthy lifestyle overall this last year, and I feel the best I’ve felt in a really long time. Skincare is essential at my age and I’m all about taking preventive measures right now so I don’t have much to “fix” later on. Luckily, I’ve always been a nut about using SPF on my face and I’ll rarely go into the sun without it (plus my large hat and sunglasses). I’ll let the rest of my body get some color (nothing like my college tan days), but my face is pretty much off-limits. That’s what makeup and bronzer is for, girls!
What I love about using a moisturizer with SPF is how easy it makes it to knock out that important step. I always apply moisturizer in the morning (before putting my makeup on), and love that just by applying it, I’m also helping to protect my skin against aging UVA and burning UVB rays. What I’ve hated about some of the other moisturizers with SPF is the greasy, oily feeling they leave behind and the whitening effect left on my skin. The Perricone MD Pre:Empt Daily Brightening SPF is not only super lightweight (you can barely feel it), but it also dries in seconds. The formula is also a light peach color which acts like a tinted moisturizer! I can wear it alone on those makeup free days, but it also provides my face with the perfect base for makeup application. You can pick up the full Perricone MD line at QVC — one of my favorite spots for skincare!

September 6, 2017 at 10:41 pmI agree that SPF should be on our faces every day no matter what! It’s such a small but hugely important step in skincare routine and every
woman should make it a priority ! You’re looking gorgeous in this wonderful dress.
