10 Things Worth Buying From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Happy Friday, loves!  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access has been in full swing since yesterday at 3AM (EST) and if you’re a Nordstrom card holder, you can shop the sale early before it opens to the public next week!  It really is the best time to shop for any new pieces you may have started to want for fall — and what’s great about this sale, it’s all BRAND NEW inventory.  It’s not the end of the season crap that nobody wanted… it’s all new pieces that are on sale before the season starts!  If you missed my try-on sessions featuring some of the most popular items, you can find them in this blog post HERE or on my Instagram stories (make sure to watch before they disappear).

Today, I’m sharing my TOP 10 items you won’t want to miss during the sale, and showing you how I typically style these items in fall!

SUEDE/LEATHER JACKET

I finally made the plunge and purchased this year’s version of this suede jacket (that I constantly borrowed from Pinteresting Plans last year).  I had mentioned this a couple times, but I had this jacket in my cart last year and it sold out from under me.  I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I ended up purchasing it at full price in purple later on!  I love these suede jackets because not only do they last throughout the fall, they are amazing to wear under heavy jackets to add another layer of warmth during the winter, and can even carry you into spring (or a cool summer night).  This suede jacket is on sale for $125!  There are also some great faux leather and real leather jacket options — including the embroidered leather jacket that I wore all last year!

RAW HEM DENIM

One of my absolute FAVORITE trends from last year is back.  I’m pretty happy that denim with holes throughout the pant leg are taking a little bit of a backseat this year.  Not sure about you, but when you have to wear denim with holes in the knees and it’s 20 degrees outside, I curse the person who started that trend.  This year’s denim is much more structured, but still has a little hint of destruction with the raw hem.  This denim is meant to fit you right at the ankle, so if a pair is too long, take out those scissors and cut them yourself!

GLOVE BOOTIES

A great piece to wear under your raw hem denim, these booties have stretchy fabric up at the top and your foot just sort of slides right in!  The trick to these is, you actually are supposed to wear them UNDER your jeans or pants, and they look great with dresses and skirts as a statement boot.  Look for a pair that hits slightly above your ankle bone so the height of the shaft doesn’t cut off your legs too much (it can make you look really short).

CARDIGANS

A great basic that you can get a lot of wear out of!  Most lightweight cardigans are in the $30-$50 range during the sale, making them a great buy to stock up on!  I always like to stick to neutral colors so that they go with a lot more in my wardrobe.  Throw on a tee, a great pair of jeans, and a neutral cardigan — you have yourself an instant fall outfit!

BEAUTY TOOLS

My favorite hair tools brand, t3 is always included in the Nordstrom sale!  I have the Featherweight Hair Dryer in rose gold and it’s currently on sale for $135 (down from $200).  It’s been my favorite hair dryer by far and I got a couple of my girlfriends hooked on it after they’ve used it at my house!  I also love the t3 straightener (that can also be used to curl hair).  I also just received the me Sleek hair removal system (currently $100 off) and I’m so excited to try it!

RAILS FLANNEL SHIRT

I sound like a broken record, but the only way I EVER wear a $150 flannel is when I get it on sale.  These shirts are THE BEST.  I know they’re pricey, but they have been worth every pretty penny.  First of all, they have a great shape to them (unlike most boxy flannels), they’re super soft (not itchy or thick like most), and hold up — I’ve had a few of mine going on 3+ years.  I size up to a medium in all Rails shirts for a slouchy fit and love to wear them tucked in, untucked, and open with a tee under.

COZY SWEATERS

The best time to stock up on some cozy sweaters is right now.  I would go with plain, neutral colors — so you won’t be like WTF when it comes time to pull them out!

WINTER BOOTS

The thing I HATE most is spending money on winter boots — but I’m always glad I have a good pair when the weather turns.  It’s so much better to get something practical ON SALE!  I’ve had my winter boots for 5 years and they’re still going strong!

BEAUTY SETS

I typically hold off from any beauty products unless I’m in NEED.  Last year, I got myself the La Mer set because I was out of moisturizer and then quickly became addicted to every other product that was in the set!  If one of your favorite brands or products comes in a set for the sale, it’s a great time to buy a backup and get to try out a few other full size products for the same price!

ATHEISURE

Like I need a reminder that I’ve been skipping barre class this summer — #whoops!  There’s a ton of activewear and athleisure pieces on sale — I love getting a few pair of leggings to last me throughout the year during this sale!  There’s also some great deals on sneakers if you’re in the market!

Hope you have a great weekend and get to scoop up a few goodies at major markdowns!  Make sure to stay glued to my Instagram to see what I’m purchasing this year!
