The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is HERE, my friends! I’m SURE you all have heard everyone shouting from the rooftops about this sale — and it’s for good reason! It’s a great time to splurge on a piece you have been wanting, stock up on great fall basics that can take you through next season, and try trendy pieces for less!
HERE’S THE DEAL
Early Access for the sale runs today through July, 20th — and then it opens to the public. If you’re a Nordstrom card holder, you already have access to the sale and you can begin to shop (and save)! If not, keep your eyes peeled and start compiling a wishlist now that you can see the full scope of everything at a discount! Items do tend to sell out fast, but some hot items are restocked as the sale continues, so don’t give up if you happen to see your favorite item disappear! Prices go up when the sale ends August, 6th!
I do have to say, I was so humbled at all of your amazing feedback last night on Instagram Stories after I mentioned that I’m always hesitant about these sales. The last thing I want to do to you is give you bad advice and tell you to purchase something JUST BECAUSE it’s on sale. I think it’s always best to take these sales and go at them with a little strategy. ASK YOURSELF… Can I wear it now? Is it something I wanted last season? Do I have an event to wear it to? Is it a staple piece that I can wear all next season? If the answer is YES, go for it! If not, hold off (or for the love of God, hang on to that receipt). I think the worst think you can do during these sales is get PRICE TAG happy. Sometimes you see something discounted and automatically think that if it’s on sale, you need it.
I’m rounding up some picks I found that I think fit the above criteria. Some pieces can be worn now and will also take you into fall, some are staples that you’ll always be reaching for, and some are designer pieces that are at an insane discount and worth every penny.
I love this floral cold shoulder top that I think you can wear both now and later! I happened to pair it with my denim skirt I walked into the store with, and it would look great under a thick chunky sweater and denim later on!
The hoodie trend is going to be big this year and you see lots of athletic companies reviving their old school sweatshirts with big logos! I loved the take on this one from Topshop — the raw hem is perfectly on trend and is a fun touch!
Free People sweaters are always such a steal during this sale — I absolutely love this one that comes in a few colors! It’s a perfect summer sweater for cooler nights and would look great with a pair of cutoffs now. Free People sweaters are always oversized enough without being boxy and I love the fit. Worth every penny!
This sweater reminded me of a Free People sweater that was HUGE last year. This one is just $45 and is the perfect combo of slouchy and structured.
Cardigans are always a great buy during the sale — if you’re like me, you wear a cardigan over everything! This one is around $30 and comes in several colors (I always like to stick to neutrals). It looks great over this lace trim cami — another huge trend that you can wear now and later! This cami is part of the sale, comes in ivory as well (styled below), and under $22!
This BlankNYC Suede Jacket was one of the top sellers last year and SUCH a good deal! I hesitated and it sold out before I could buy it last season and I ended up paying full price later on because I loved it so much!
Buying this entire outfit today. I am OBSESSED with the pajama shirt trend and absolutely love the black trim of this blouse! Cropped denim is also another huge trend for fall — this pair is high waisted, has a fun released hem detailing and is under $50!
RAILS FLANNELS FOR THE WIN. This is the ONLY time I ever purchase Rails flannels — when they are on major sale for under $100 (usually $150+). I know it may seem like a lot for a flannel shirt, but I promise, you’ll get so much use out of them! Not only are they the softest material, they actually breathe really well, the fit is perfection, and the patterns are always muted and look worn-in. I cannot say enough about these tops — just make sure to size up for a slouchy fit like above. I always size up to a medium in Rails.
The slip dress trend is going to be big again this fall, so if you’re looking for a trendy piece, this is it! You could definitely wear this now with strappy sandals and then again in the fall, layered with a tee, cozy cardigan and chunky booties!
I’m going to be heading back over to Nordstrom later today to check in on the sale and see what other pieces have been added since yesterday (and pick up a few things I had on hold). Make sure to watch my Instagram for a try-on session later today and keep checking back, I will be updating as the sale continues!
