Get the Look: NYFW Rebecca Minkoff Rock n’ Roll Waves with TRESemmé

As you could probably tell, I had a blast at NYFW with the entire TRESemmé team!  I loved getting to see all the backstage action and the real deal pros at work creating all of these inspiring looks!  A lot of what we see on the runways isn’t completely wearable in real life, but what I love about TRESemmé is how they bring the catwalk right to the crosswalk, creating hairstyles that can easily be achieved at home.  I picked my favorite look from all shows, the rock n’ roll waves look TRESemmé created at the Rebecca Minkoff show, and created a step-by-step tutorial on how you can get the look!  Read on to find out how to rock the messy waves look.

{Step 1} – Dispense several pumps of TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam onto clean hair.

{Step 2} – Scrunch through hair, applying roots to tips, focusing more on your ends.

{Step 3} – Start to blow dry hair sections of hair straight to help eliminate any frizz.

{Step 4} – Using a large barrel curling iron or wand, curl one-inch sections of hair away from the face, focusing the curling on midway down to the ends.

{Step 5} – The most important part! Finger brush the curls to break them apart and stretch them into more of a wave. I get asked about this all the time after I curl my hair and this is the master trick to prevent pageant curls.

{Step 6} – Spritz your entire head with TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Sea Salt Spray and scrunch with hands to create an edgier texture.

{Step 7} – Dispense a pearl-size dollop of the TRESemmé “Max the Volume” Root Lifting Cream and rub hands together to emulsify.

{Step 8} – Apply the cream to roots by working it in with your fingertips to create more lift.  This helps to give the matte “bed head” type of look.

{Step 9} – Finish the look by spraying TRESemmé Youth Boost Voluminous Hold Hairpsray to lock in the style and maintain control and lift all day.
