I’m so excited to take you backstage at the Rebecca Minkoff show today! The Rebecca Minkoff show is always quite the event each season. Not only are her collections always so on point, but she has had a live band each season for the past few shows which brings an entirely different vibe to the runway.
I got to head backstage with TRESemmé to watch them create the look of “rock and roll waves” from scratch. I should have known by looking at the hair that we were in for a wild ride. Rebecca Minkoff’s entire collection had a very boho/western flare to it this season… tons of fringe, suede over-the-knee boots, printed maxi dresses, lace tights, oversized western sweaters, and fedoras filled the runway. It felt straight out of the 70’s and I loved every second of it.
To get this perfectly messy look, Orlando Pita for TRESemmé, used a few different products. The “rock and roll waves” look is all about creating texture with a matte finish, for that just-rolled-out-of-bed hair. #iwokeuplikethis. Orlando used a combo of TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam and TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Sea Salt Spray to create the curls using a large barrel curling iron. After messing them up with his fingers (for that perfectly undone look), he then used the secret sauce… TRESemmé “Max the Volume” Root Lifting Cream which gave the hair that perfectly messy volume we all want! I had this same look created for the show ahead of time and loved it! Although waves are my signature hairstyle, the messy rock and roll style kicked it up a notch and I felt perfectly at home at the runway show!
I’m so excited to show you a step-by-step tutorial to get this look on the blog tomorrow, make sure to stay tuned!
