Outdoor lighting gets me every time. When I walked out the door with this outfit on, I took one look in the mirror and thought… holy colors! The orange, pink, and shades of green were vibrant and frankly, I looked like I was going to celebrate Carnival. My lipstick was a shade of HOT PINK, like dance recital back when I was 8, PINK. But my photos just don’t show it. Finding outfits and makeup that photograph well is one of the trickier parts of style blogging in my opinion. Something might look GREAT on but can photograph terribly. They always say that on the red carpet, “The dress looked so much better in person than it does on TV.” I believe it! I’m secretly always wishing for slightly overcast days… it’s when the outfits and colors photograph best.
Don’t forget to enter my current Stella & Dot Giveaway – it ends next week! Have a great long weekend!
xoxo, Christina

May 24, 2012 at 6:40 pmAw, well I still think this outfit looks AMAZING on you, I lovvvve the colors and can only imagine how much more vibrant they are in “real life”! I have the same issues – for me it’s often my lip color and my nails… I can be wearing NEON pink nail polish and in photos it ends up looking like soft baby pink. I don’t get it. But YES, I always enjoy a slightly overcast day when I have time to take photos, too!! Loving every single element of this outfit, you look gorgeous!

May 24, 2012 at 10:29 pmGreat outfit! And that totally happens to me too. I’ll absolutely adore my outfit, but then when it’s photographed, it’s not so hot.

May 25, 2012 at 9:42 amI love this outfit! And your hair is gorgeous! How do you get your hair cut at the salon? I’d love to get a similar cut and would really appreciate some tips. Thanks!

May 28, 2012 at 3:08 pmI usually ask for long layers in the back and subtle angles in the front (to help grow out my bangs). It gives it some volume for curls! Hope that helps!

May 25, 2012 at 11:08 amLOVE that necklace. I just ordered it online last week and can’t wait to get it!! It looks so pretty with your coral shirt and mint jeans. I do hate when an outfit turns out differently in pictures though!

May 26, 2012 at 10:47 amI really like your outfit. The pants and the top go really well together. I especially love the shoes! They’re amazing. But I think I would skip the clutch (the orange doesn’t quite match the color of your top) and the nail polish as well as the lipstick. It’s just a tad too much. Maybe you could add a neutral bag and a nude or glossy lip instead. Other than that, great look. 🙂
