Have you seen the new Target commercials at the Fall Fashion Show? Look familiar?! A few weeks ago during NYFW, I was able to attend the LIVE Target Fall Fashion Show and will be bringing you “off the runway” trends at reasonable price points during this season! If you missed my first post about the bold lip, make sure to check it out! Wavy hair was also a trend all over the runways during NYFW. If you’re a regular on Oh So Glam, you’ll know this trend is spot on for me… I barely ever wear my hair straight and always need some texture for volume. The great thing about the wavy hair trend is that it does not need to be perfect. Get out those curling wands and I’ll tell you how to achieve my favorite look!
Some like to use a curling iron to achieve wavy hair, but for me, in order to avoid looking like I’m in a beauty pageant circa 1980, I use my favorite curling wand that I’ve been using for years! It gives the curls a more natural feel right off the bat and an even better look when they start to fall. The key to ANY type of styling is a good blow dry first. My hair needs to be smooth and completely dry before any type of styling tool can touch it. I blow out my hair in sections using a round brush and spend the last few minutes with my hair upside down for some extra oomph! After my hair is completely dry, I section it off top and bottom and wrap one inch sections of hair around my curling wand, only leaving it on for a few seconds (this gives it a more natural feel). After I’m done, I spray a little hairspray VERY lightly over my head and immediately run my fingers through the curls to break them up a bit. Sometimes I will even curl my hair the night before and will wake up with soft waves… this only works if there is no humidity!
