My fall uniform usually consists of a textured jacket, skinnies and some boots. It’s extremely comfortable and practical yet looks very put together, which is my kind of outfit. When T.J. Maxx challenged me this week to put together a “mixed media” look, I knew I wanted to find a way to incorporate the trend, but not take it over the top, because let’s face it… mixed anything can probably get out of hand pretty quickly. The mixed media trend is a big one this season and there are no rules. To try this trend, you can mix and match any type of colors, patterns, textures and fabrics. See, I told you it could get out of hand really fast!
I think tweed has to be one of my favorite fabrics for fall and winter… it has staying power and somehow always looks so classy! I have a wide variety of tweed jackets, some more structured than others, but they all get a lot of use! I was so happy when I spotted this designer off-white one with gold hardware since my almost identical one from last year took a major beating and I was looking for a replacement! I was amazed at the quality for the price point, especially since my tweed jacket from last year cost nearly double what I paid for this one! Double score! Since we’re still in the in-between weather, I was able to layer this tweed jacket over a simple white tee!
Another one of my fall staples is the leather legging. I will admit, I initially thought this was a come-and-go type of trend but it has managed to stay around for years. Seriously. I’m legit on my 4th pair. I love that these aren’t too shiny so they look appropriate to wear during the day!
I added a pop of color to this neutral outfit with a red lip, something I’ve been doing quite often! I also found this gorgeous light plum nail polish… both designer name beauty products I found while hunting in the T.J. Maxx beauty section!
If you missed my first posts with T.J. Maxx this season, make sure to check them out here and here!

October 15, 2013 at 12:56 pmI love your style and I visit your blog often. I like the website but your pictures always make my browser too slow. No other blog does that. Have you considered reducing the size of the pics you upload? It’s just an observation.

October 15, 2013 at 7:58 pmI love the cut of that tweed jacket — it’s not so ladylike like tweed often is, the moto shape gives it an edge!
