I talked about one of my 2016 resolutions back in January, getting myself out of the house for a change of scenery at least once a week. One of my favorite spots to work out of the house is Dom’s Coffee in Avon, CT… the cutest coffee shop you’ve ever seen.
There’s nothing I love more than bright, inspiring surroundings. It’s actually a huge criteria of mine as we start the official house-hunt. I just cannot be without natural light! I love every nook of this coffee shop (you’ve probably seen glimpses of it on my Instagram here and here). We shot this cozy look a few weeks ago while taking a break from the frigid temperatures outside and warmed up with almond milk lattes inside. This laid-back look is usually what you can find me in during the week. I’ve actually been really good about getting dressed every morning (it was another 2016 resolution of mine). As tempting as it is to work in sweatpants or yoga pants, it was really important to me this year to get back into a better routine, and getting dressed (even if it’s just in jeans and a tee) has really helped keep me on track.
These James Jeans are one of my only non-distressed pair (dead serious) but I love the color and the fit! I’ve also had this Madewell tee for a few years and it’s the perfect slouchy fit, and seems to only get better with every wash. I’m also featuring these Joie boots on the blog not once, but twice this week! You can see how I styled them last month here! They have to be one of my favorite winter-to-spring transition shoes and are the only thing that get me out of my infamous white Adidas sneakers that I’ve been living in for months! I also have a few of these open-front duster sweaters and always grab them when I need a light extra layer. This exact one is from Calypso St. Barth years ago (here’s a similar style) but I found one for less than $30 which also comes in two other colors!
