What a year it has been. I can’t believe we’re at the end of another year, yet alone another decade. This year was both extremely exciting and challenging for me (and US) but we are starting to finally feel at ease and content after a rollercoaster start to the year — we kicked off the year by purchasing our forever home (after a two year long stretch of house hunting). We wasted absolutely ZERO time and got to work on all the major renovation projects we plan to tackle at our house by mid-January. After 6 weeks of renovating (sanding the popcorn ceilings off of our ceilings, painting every inch of the house, and some outside landscaping removal work), we moved in late February and honestly both felt lost. It was a harder adjustment than both of us realized it would be. It’s one thing to move… it’s another to move, renovate, and relocate two at-home businesses at the same time. We felt overwhelmed, a bit in-over-our-heads, and were eager to start to making the house feel like a home and get back into a daily routine. Just when we started to feel semi-normal — it was time to start the biggest project we’ll (hopefully) have to tackle at this house — the ginormous kitchen renovation that took almost 8 months start to finish. We felt so much pressure, felt extremely displaced, felt proud, felt accomplished, felt overwhelmed, felt excited… all at the same time. I have so much kitchen content to share with you in the New Year now that we’re finally at a good place and feel settled back in. I’m going to not only share a full reveal, but will also share why we made a few different decisions, and some tips and tricks to surviving a full kitchen renovation while living there.
Next up on the home front? We’re going to be working on furnishing the rest of the house now that we have a feel for the space and our energy isn’t being pulled in another direction. We have some exciting home furnishing projects on the horizon, and will also be focusing our attention to some outdoor work: building back some of the landscaping we had removed that was unhealthy and overgrown.
Some personal and professional goals were a little delayed this year due to sheer distraction, so I’m excited to get back into the swing of things come January. I’m going to finish decorating my office and a full reveal will be soon into the New Year — it’ll finally be a (finished) space for me to concentrate on work, film more hauls and tutorials for you guys, and get back to writing on the blog and conversing with you all more. I feel very connected with my little OSG Family — this year more than ever, and I’m excited to give you guys the content you’ve been asking for in 2020: lots of room reveals, beauty tutorials and finds, and try-ons will be coming your way. YOU ASKED AND I LISTENED! In the meantime, here are highlights from 2019 to hold you over…
