INSTAGLAM | August Outfit Roundup

Absolutely UNREAL that it’s the end of August already.  It’s been a pretty jammed month and I’m gearing up for an even busier September/October this year… but there are plenty of trips to be excited about!  More on that below.  I’m rounding up everything I wore in Cape Cod earlier this month and what was supposed to be my trip to Austin for a bachelorette, which last minute turned into a trip back to NYC due to the weather in Texas.  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and all over the southern states this week.  If you want to read up on how you can help or safely donate, please visit my friend House of Harper‘s blog post for more details (she currently resides in Houston).

Gingham Top | Denim Shorts | similar Bag | Necklace

I’ve usually stayed away from gingham — it’s usually been a little too preppy for my style, but have LOVED incorporating it this season in blouses and dresses!  I also get a lot of questions on these shorts — make sure to size up one size (they do run small).  I love that they are high-waisted and a bit longer/oversized.

Ruffle Dress | Belt (wearing size 75)

Definitely one of my favorite dress purchases this season — ruffles, one-shoulder, and polka dots?  Sign me up.  I paired it with this Gucci belt I had my eye on since seeing it over in Italy last summer.  It finally came back in stock in my size (and a thinner version), so I scooped it up for fall!

Floral Duster | Lace-Up Cami | Denim | Heels

I put this outfit on and seriously thought there was TOO much going on, but I was running late so I decided to go with it.  You gals LOVED it to pieces and I’ve never received so many DM’s on Instagram about anything I’ve worn before.  This cami keeps going in and out of stock but if you’re willing to splurge a bit, I found the inspiration behind this version fully in stock.  These jeans are actually from last year and still in stock (100% worth the investment) and these heels have been my go-to this summer.  They are a fun (but still classy) take on the lucite trend that’s going to blow up over the next few seasons!

Lace Top | Denim Shorts | Slide Loafers

Slowly transitioning into fall with these cooler temps, I pulled out my favorite white slide loafers from last year and paired them with shorts and this lace top I scored on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

Striped Top | One Piece | Straw Tote | Hat

I wear my blue striped button down top all. the. time. so I scooped up this pink version thinking of how perfect it would be in France later next month!  I’ve been wearing it non-stop with everything from jeans, to denim skirts, and over my swimwear.  Speaking on swimwear… get this suit NOW.  I don’t like to play favorites with swimwear — probably because WHAT swim is actually anyone’s favorite?!  It’s probably the most flattering style ever and a super thick material (so you stay put).

Gingham Dress | Straw Tote

A fun take on gingham — I love the color of this dress and how comfortable it is.  I also can’t deal with the cuteness of this tote.  It’s under $75 and comes in a few colors.  I also always get SO many compliments — people seriously gush over this little thing.

Maxi Dress | Straw Tote | Sandals

If I could live in a brand right now, it would probably be Faithfull.  I’m always stopped when I wear any of their pieces because they are just so unique and beautiful.  The color of this dress actually made me LOVE the color red and I’ve been slowly incorporating it into my wardrobe this season.  Their pieces tend to sell out fast (I can’t imagine whyyyy), but if you love this dress, make sure to check out the rest of their line HERE.  I will be on an ordering spree for some upcoming travel.

Cardigan Sweater | Joggers

I loved this cardigan so much that I actually bought it in the larger size because I couldn’t walk out of the store without it and they didn’t have the small in stock.  I don’t even care.  It’s the coziest sweater I’ve ever bought and I’ve worn it every single day I’ve had it for the past 3 weeks.  I also got a lot of questions about these joggers that I wore in The Cape.  They are super soft and perfect for lounging around while still feeling somewhat stylish.

Printed Blouse | Denim Mini | similar Black Mules | Belt (similar style under $20)

For me, the denim mini never went out of style, so I’m hesitant to say it’s back.  I’ve had this one for a few years and this year’s version is almost identical.  I’m a huge fan of tucking anything into denim — can’t wait to tuck in some sweaters and wear it with some ankle boots!  For now, these mules will do!  I found an extremely similar pair as well as this exact blouse for you!

Tee | Denim | Studded Boots | Denim Jacket | Luggage

This travel day was nothing short of exhausting, but I won’t complain, because we made it back to CT safe and sound.  This was after about 16 hours straight of traveling and getting stuck in the Detroit airport before turning back around to fly home.  Many of you were asking about my luggage on Instagram — I can’t recommend this one enough.  The bride-to-be I was flying with actually has it in the darker brown color as well and we wheeled them around multiple airports easily!  It’s super lightweight and actually has a ton of room inside.  I’m a big advocate for trying to always carry on my luggage (for exact reasons such as how fast our plans changed).

You gals were also asking about these boots.  I splurged back in the spring on these after wanting them since before I started this blog.  I’ve had a few replicas to get the look year after year and finally decided to make the investment.  I love them but know they are A LOT of money.  I found a really similar pair for you under $30 that give you the same look!

Dress | Studded Boots | Bag

After the longest travel day ever, we ended up in NYC the next day with the sun shining.  I scooped up this Topshop dress for our coming trip overseas and broke it out early to pair with these boots (again, here’s a similar option under $30).

Sheer Top | Bralette | Denim Shorts | Belt (similar style under $20)

Our trip was supposed to be to Austin so I planned my outfits a little country and a little rock and roll.  I didn’t have time to switch out my choices so this outfit came with me to NYC and I made it work.  This was a little daring with just the bralette, but it looked just as fun with a black cami underneath (which I debated wearing).  After a little rosé, and some convincing from the 4 other girls I was with, I decided to rock it!

Dress | Heels | Bag (similar style)

A fitted mini dress isn’t normally something I would wear after 3 days of eating and drinking like I did over the weekend, but it’s nothing a little SPANX can’t fix.  Seriously.  I wear SPANX under everything and anything even remotely fitted.  It makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE in the world.  This is the EXACT ONE I wear that I can’t recommend enough.

A lot of you were also requesting that I find these heels for you that I wear all the time, too — and, I found them!

Jumpsuit | Slides | Bag (similar style)

See above gushing statement over Faithfull The Brand.  I probably got stopped 10 times over this jumpsuit the day I wore it.  It’s still available in size MEDIUM, so if that’s your size, GRAB IT NOW.  I had originally purchased it for our trip to Lebanon (and was planning to wear it this exact way), but I saw it was selling out fast and I wanted to feature it before it was gone.  It’s almost gone!!!!
