I’m excited to be teaming up with Wayfair today, one of my favorite home online retailers, to announce their new Wedding Registry! Plus, make sure to read on to see how you can win $20,000 from Wayfair towards your dream wedding! It’s crazy to think that’s it’s already been over a year since our own wedding – a year and a little under 2 months to be exact. I’ve mentioned this before, but since Raja and I already lived together prior to getting married, it really didn’t change anything besides my last name, and the hassles that come with that – but, we’ll save that post for another day! Besides getting to spend an entire weekend with some of our closest friends and family, we were honestly excited to upgrade a few things in our home that had been either hand-me-downs or still hanging around from the college apartment days. Since we aren’t in our forever home just yet, I was determined to register for things that we actually needed and would use – and not just gadgets to sit in a box in our basement. I love the idea of registering at a place that has it all like Wayfair – kitchen cookware and appliances, tableware, bedding and bath linens and accessories, storage solutions, home decor, garden and even furniture! That’s right, I said furniture! Dreaming of a brand new sofa or gourmet appliance, but can’t imagine asking your guests to splurge? That’s where Group Gifting comes in. This feature allows multiple guests to contribute toward your biggest wishes. Just mark an item as a Group Gift, and your friends and family will be able to pitch in their desired amount. You’ll get the gifts you love at the price they want—win-win! Wayfair makes it so easy to have a one-stop shop and a huge selection to choose from since they carry different designers, price points and offers free shipping!
In celebration of this brand new feature to hit Wayfair’s site this month, I’ve put together a list of 10 items we registered for that were well worth it – and not sitting in storage!
A blender. Yes, we’ll start with the basics, but this isn’t just any old blender. Raj and I actually went through multiple blenders in the 6 years we’ve lived together and we were determined to invest in one that will actually last more than a year – since it’s hands-down the most used appliance in our kitchen! We love our Vitamix and use it for everything from shakes, smoothies, and soup, plus it handles food processing for hummus and salad dressings.
Fancy Coffee-Maker. We’re big believers in brewing at home and have probably saved thousands over the years by doing so. I love this Nespresso machine and after having some of the best coffee of my life on our honeymoon in Italy – this takes me right back there!
Everyday Dinnerware. Much to the dismay of our moms, we didn’t register for formal china. We knew we wouldn’t use it in the house we’re currently in, didn’t want to have to deal with moving it, and who knows what “look” I’ll be going for in a new house – so it just wasn’t worth it. Instead, we registered for a nice set of everyday dinnerware and kept it basic incase anything ever needs to be replaced or added to.
A nice cutting board. I use this cutting board to prep food multiple times per day. Plus, it’s actually nice enough looking to leave out on the counter for easy use. I’ve also used it as a serving board for charcuterie and other appetizers! We also added a brand new knife set to our registry to go along with it!
Cast-Iron Skillet. I honestly don’t know how we even had a kitchen without one. We cook almost every night, and this was a perfect addition to our full set of pots and pans. It’s so nice to be able to cook on the stovetop and transfer the same dish to the oven!
Big-Girl Vacuum. Similar to the blender saga, I’ve probably spent more than I’d care to admit buying vacuums over the years that lose suction soon after. We live with a 7-pound furball and this Dyson (specific to pet-care) has been wonderful! This was actually a present from my bridesmaids at my bridal shower a few months before our wedding and the suction is still as strong as the day we got it – and it’s used multiple times a week!
Hotel Bath Robes. I know I can’t be the only one who always wants to steal the robes from a fancy hotel. It dawned on me that we could actually have those in our own home, so we registered for monogrammed ones and use them daily – I always do my hair and makeup in mine! Our family friend who gave them to use also gave us a bottle of champagne and champagne glasses – we thought it was such a great gift idea!
Matching Towel Set. I don’t know about you, but our towel collection was looking a bit ridiculous – every color and size under the rainbow. This is pretty standard for register for – but I actually feel like a grown-up with matching towels. It’s the little luxuries!
Jewelry Box. It makes sense! You’ll both be sporting some new bling and it’s important to keep track of it (if you choose to take it off). My mother-in-law gave me a beautiful mirrored one similar to this style with velvet lining – it helps keep the jewelry separated to avoid scratches and it a beautiful accent to our dresser.
Tufted Headboard. I’m cheating a little bit because it wasn’t something we registered for – although we did upgrade our bed to a king last Christmas and this is our exact headboard! I love the idea of registering for furniture – especially if you’re moving in together or moving to a new place around the time of your wedding! You can see our master bedroom reveal we partnered on with Wayfair earlier this year for ideas!
To celebrate the launch of the brand new registry, Wayfair is also offering couples a chance to win $20,000 to put toward their big day. To enter, couples must sign up for Wayfair Registry and add at least $1,000 worth of product to their registry between September 20th, 2016 and November 30th, 2016. No purchase necessary. October 1, 2016 at 1:31 amI do really like the idea of this because there’s only certain things that are USED after a wedding. My boyfriend’s sister NEVER uses half the shizz she got, so we gave her $ because we knew she’d USE THAT 😉 xx Adaleta Avdic

October 3, 2016 at 4:40 pmWhat a FABULOUS post idea and registry list! We didn’t even do a registry because we bought our home a few months before getting married and were impatient with filling it…ha! BUT, our coffee machine is our most-utilized piece for sure!
